Finished this a couple weeks ago but forgot to tell you about it. It's very different from my usual read, but it was recommended to me by several friends, so I thought I'd give it a try. The Middle Place, by Kelly Corrigan. It's a memoir of a woman who battled breast cancer. At the same time that her father was also battling cancer. It's honest, and funny, and despite the topic, a pleasure to read.
This has been on my wish list forever. I have a friend who just recovered from breast cancer (a year after her mom battled it)... I'm sending her an email now- asking if she's heard of this book.
ReplyDeletei really enjoyed this book!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! A sweet, touching and funny book-- I was pleasantly surprised at the author's fresh and interesting perspective on motherhood, family, friendships as well as what changes (and what doesn't) when faced with the challenge of cancer. I especially liked the honesty with which it was written-- the author shares her reactions and behavior even when they are less than flattering. It made her story all the more real and enjoyable.
