This is where I want to be this weekend. The Newport Folk Festival. Alas, it was not meant to be this year. I've been listening to the music mix on NPR all day, though, and plan to listen to the festival live all weekend. Even if I can't be there, I can still listen to the music.
Artists appearing at Newport this year include: Gillian Welch, Emmylou Harris, Tegan and Sara, The Decemberists, Pokey LaFarge, Typhoon, Amos Lee, The Civil Wars, M. Ward, and so many more!
Newport, like the Newport I'm going to on Thursday? Sounds like that would have been a really great way to spend the weekend. (but I did read your weekend recap, and I think THAT sounds like a nice way to spend the weekend, too.)
