The rest of the weekend was filled with crafts and cooking and christmas music. Cut-out snowflakes now adorn our kitchen windows, the paper chain is almost all the way around the tree, and we have a container of decorated sugar cookies to enjoy after dinner this week. Aaron is continuing his tradition of making gifts for his aunts/uncles/grandmas, and those were completed this weekend as well. I'm even joining in the handmade fun this year! I made a little something to send to all my siblings. The dining room table is full of stickers and boxes and ribbons...and cards! Oh yes the cards. They are so darn cute this year that I'm tempted to post one here. Those are in process, too, and as I remind myself that it's only December 3rd, I feel very ahead of the game.
On Saturday evening, we did take some time to stop the crafting and baking and playing. We put on 'The Polar Express' for the boys. It's still a little too long for Nathan, although he does love watching the train. I am thinking next week's family selection may be 'Home Alone'. Kevin will be traveling one night this week, and I'm already looking forward to finishing up the cards and watching 'It's a Wonderful Life'. Ahhh....I just love this magical time of year.
Ahhh I love Polar Express - and Home Alone - and Elf!! Watching these Christmas films is a rite of passage in our family. Sunday afternoon in December = Christmas film! I am envious you got snow - we just got cold and a frost. Ahh well - maybe it will one day be a white Christmas!? Lou x
